The term conservatism has many different meanings. It means a variety of concepts in the West, in the East and here in Central Europe.
On 7 October we will explore the question of what conservatism means in our region. What are its characteristics and how has it developed over the past decades? We will also discuss what is the difference between the Anglo-Saxon, Scrutonian conception of conservatism and the Central European approach? We also discuss topical issues: In what framework do conservatives appear in politics today?Programme of the evening:
18:00-18:30: Andrej Lokar, Philosopher, journalist, President of the Arts and Culture Association Kdo – Synthesis of traditional conservatism
18:30- 19:30: „Central European Conservatism” panel discussion with Andrej Lokar and Dr. Attila Károly Molnár, Head of the Thomas Molnar Institute for Advanced Studies, sociologist of religion, conservative historian of ideas
Moderator: Sébastien Meuwissen, Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Fundamental Rights.
