In Scruton Hub’s panel discussion entitled „Lost Western Cities?” the participants will have a discussion about Western cities influenced by political and social processes focused on various liberal ideological trends, such as the sociological, political and urbanistic effects of the „woke” and „gender ideologies”, that have been much talked about in recent years.
During the panel the following questions will be discussed:
- How are these cities changing as a result of current political orientations?
- What is the situation of Christianity in Western cities, especially with regard to the transformation of Christian churches into cultural centers, entertainment venues and other purposes?
- How does illegal migration affect the lives of city residents? How does it affect everyday life?
- What is more important for local governments: promoting political ideology or ensuring safety and a sustainable lifestyle?
Participants:
- Sam Van Rooy – Member of the Antwerp City Council, Member of the Chamber of Representatives of Belgium, author of „For freedom, therefore against Islamisation”
- Rodrigo Ballester – Head of the Center for European Studies at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Budapest, Ministerial Commissioner
- Sayfo Omar – Head of Research at Migration Research Institute. His work focuses on the integration of European Muslim diasporas and the dynamics of Middle Eastern societies.
